Gallery of Furniture Makeovers

Thank God for cameras. I look back at these photos and wish that some of these lovelies were living in my home. (It's hard to let go sometimes.) Click the links to see more shots of particular pieces, and in many cases the BEFORE photos.

One of my all-time favorite projects - painting and reupholstering this french chair find!
Paint is Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old Ochre over Coco, with dark wax. Fabric is from Robert Allen.

This was a custom job painted in ASCP in Paris Grey with Old White trim.
Love the shabbiness of this sideboard with all the distressing and dark wax!
(This was one of those pieces I wish was in my house!)

A vintage cabinet painted with ASCP in Old White and Napoleonic Blue.

And here's the same cabinet after I changed the interior to Emperor's Silk!
(I did decide to keep this one!)

A vintage buffet painted in ASCP in Aubusson Blue,
with a 50/50 mix of Old Ochre and Old White on the interior. Clear and dark wax.

One of my all-time fav's - an antique poster bed with an ornate headboard, footboard and rails. This was painted with ASCP in Paris Grey, Old White and I used dark and clear wax.

The dresser above and vanity below were part of the same bedroom set as the bed above. Again, just lovely furniture. I switched out the hardware with new clear glass knobs.  The mirrors were extraordinary!

This pretty sleigh bed is painted in ASCP in Antoinette, with clear and dark wax. The appliqué and edging on the footboard also have a touch of gold gilding.

A lyre chair transformed with Old White and French Linen.
Waxed with both clear and dark. And the seat was reupholstered too!

This jewelry armoire was painted with ASCP in Duck Egg Blue, distressed and dark waxed for aging. What a fun piece!

This was a custom paint/refinish job for a client - what a gorgeous wood panel top! Painted the base in Old White with dark wax. Stripped the top, sanded, stained and poyl'd.

This antique radio cabinet gained a new lease on life with a refinished walnut top, and base painted in ASCP in Florence with clear and dark wax. I added fun fabric to the speaker area for a pop of pattern.

This huge cabinet started off completely hunter green. The client wanted it distressed but preferred not to see any green show through. It required stripping away the green paint in the places where I planned to distress! Whew, a lot of work, but so beautiful in the end! We used Paris Grey on the outside and Old White on the inside, with plenty of dark wax for aging.

A little accent table painted with ASCP Duck Egg Blue.

A vintage bench transformed with ASCP in Old White, and a new tufted cushion seat.

Child-size bench painted with ASCP in Old White and dark wax.

This custom project was done to match another piece she had that had this exact look. To achieve he chippy blue paint over the graphite, we used Elmer's Glue!

Gorgeous bow-front dresser painted with ASCP in French Linen.

Another vintage bow-front dresser painted in Coco with a Graphite wash.
Clear wax and Old White distressed drawer pulls.

A vintage bow-front dresser painted in Antoinette pink with Old White drawer pulls.

A Home Depot lamp got a boutique makeover with ASCP in French Linen and a stenciled shade.

This one got an Annie Sloan french motif stencil in Coco on the top.

Shadow boxes in Old White and dark wax.

Love this table painted with ASCP in Emperor's Silk and dark wax.

Candle stand painted with ASCP in Versailles and clear wax.

The pedestal base and windsor chairs were painted with ASCP in Duck Egg Blue.
The top was stripped, sanded and stained to reveal a gorgeous grain.

Little accent table painted with ASCP in Scandinavian Pink and dark waxed.

I love Emperor's Silk on a hall table!

I did a custom paint job on a dining set in French Linen and Old White.
(click the link if you want to see hairless cats!)

Lovely column accent table painted with ASCP in Old Ochre,
with dark wax and gold gilding wax on the legs.

This secretary was also a custom paint job in ASCP's French Linen and Old White.

A vintage cigar stand found new life as a planter with ASCP in Arles and dark wax.

This dresser was a custom paint job in a fabulous shade - Napoleonic Blue!
(in this photo it was awaiting knobs to be selected by client)

Vintage mirror painted with Maison Blanche chalk paint in Voo Doo,
with dark wax and gold gilding wax on the edges.

These little rustic "word" signs were made from a pallet I tore apart. Painted with Old White, and the words were transferred over and painted with French Linen. Heavy distressing!

A pair of off the shelf, unfinished kitchen cabinets were painted with
Paris Grey, distressed and given a healthy dose of dark wax!
